As Australian fans will already know, turban-wearer, freelance Shaman and recreational weed alchemist Naboo the Enigma will be heading Down Under later this month to DJ across the country, bake brownies (hopefully) and teach people how to travel through time and space. But in news that Mighty Boosh fans across the world can revel in, Spike Jonze is aware the show exists.
This seemingly trivial fact is important because when quizzed on who they’d like to see Directing a big screen adaptation of the show, Boosh creators Noel Fielding and Julian Barratt said Spike Jonze was at the top of their list. It’s a tenuous connection I know, but when Jonze was later asked whether he’d consider taking the project on he said: “I don’t know, but they’re hilarious.” He then added that ex-girlfriend and Yeah Yeah Yeahs frontwoman Karen O was a huge Mighty Boosh fan: “I haven’t seen the stage shows but Karen gave me the DVD. It’s one of her favourite shows.”
So yeah, please make this happen? I’ll never have to leave my room again. Let the collective power of internet wishful thinking cajole this thing into existence.
