Spike Jonze Enlists Girls, Animal Collective, Nick Zinner For Soundtrack

Spike Jonze has helmed now-iconic music videos for Fatboy Slim, Weezer, Beastie Boys, Sonic Youth, LCD Soundsystem and Bjork, has a Producer/DJ brother named Squeak E. Clean and counts Yeah Yeah Yeahs frontwoman Karen O among his ex-girlfriends. Basically, the dude shares an affinity with the musically inclined that most filmmakers can only dream about (unless your name happens to be Martin Scorsese). Unsurprisingly, if Jonze’s Rolodex is as musician-heavy as we think it is, the Director has enlisted a stellar cast of players for the I’m Here original soundtrack – the ABSOLUT commissioned “robot love story” Jonze unveiled earlier this year.

Tightly curated and surprisingly singular in mood (considering the diversity of the bands), the soundtrack boasts previously released cuts from Girls, Animal Collective and Sleigh Bells as well as “There Are Many of Us” a new jam by Lost Trees (Yeah Yeah Yeahs guitarist Nick Zinner and Red Hot Chilli Peppers bassist Flea) and L.A artist ASKA. Listen below…

I’m Here tracklist:

01 The Lost Trees and ASKA: “There Are Many of Us”
