The Gang Behind “Eastbound & Down” Are Making A Movie Of Some Description

Far be it for us to report on all the minutiae of Hollywood‘s various doings and transpirings, but even with minimal information this is a real doozy.

The gang behind the wildly hilarious Eastbound & Down are now working together on a film project, the details of which – whilst scarce – should be more than enough to pique the interests of more than a few of you.
Deadline reports that the Rough House production company – comprised of Danny McBride, Jody Hill, and David Gordon Green – are working with Scott Rudin Productions on a project entitled “The Legacy of a Whitetail Deer Hunter.”
It’s known that McBride will star in the film, and Josh Brolin has also been tapped to co-star. It’s also known that Jody Hill will be directing the film from a script that he and McBride wrote with fellow Eastbound scribe John Carcieri.
Beyond that, however? Nada. No information. Everything under the tightest of wraps.
It’s *possible* that the project has some sort of connection to Roger Raglin – a minor US TV personality who apparently has had a hunting show on the Outdoor Channel and has been “one of the most respected personalities in the outdoor industry” for nearly 30 years (or so the story goes).
A while back Raglin released an outdoor hunting DVD with the same title as the film project, which carries this Archibald-worthy box art.
‘Course that’s nothing but mere speculation at this stage, so do with that information what you will.
Before that happens, the team are making a new HBO series for McBride entitled Vice Principals, which is due to have its 18 episode season hit screens at some point next year.
Until then, feel free to let your imagination run wild over what a potential McBride/Brolin hunting comedy might look like whilst appreciating this glorious GIF.
