The Chaser Returns To Wage A New War

The Chaser boys are back with an all-new war: entitled “Yes We Canberra!”, the new series will screen in the lead up to the Federal election, with five episodes airing once a week in the time slot before ABC’s Lateline on Wednesdays. And what a better time to make a comeback? With the recent happenings of a PM fallen from grace, a breaking of the glass ceiling and an unmarried atheist who’s now taken the lead, Australian politics has never been so salacious.

We’re predicting several cross-dressing ops with the regular presence of ranga wig – and with the Bob Hawke made-for-tele series on the way, there’ll be even more fodder for fake hair-related gags.

In 2007, the Chaser’s coverage of the federal election (which put K Rudd v. John Howard in the mud slinging ring) made it to the top 25 most watched shows – and one of the most talked about. Politicians, parties, and media beware. And of course terminally ill kids.

Yes We Canberra! will air Wednesday nights at 9.45pm for four weeks in the lead-up to the election on ABC1 .
