The Australian Women’s Weekly Crowned Magazine Of The Year

The Australian Women’s Weekly has beaten Better Homes and Gardens and Vogue Australia to be crowned Magazine of the Year at the second annual Australian Magazine Awards (AMA).

Judging from criteria such as circulation, readership growth, advertising volume, front cover, editorial content, layout and design – judges praised the magazine for its editorial modernization and layout face lift: “For the No 1 magazine in Australia to revive itself and show signs of progress is a fabulous thing. The reinvestment in (the Weekly) has resulted in editorial innovation and made it more contemporary.”

Other winners included Vogue Australia for Women’s Fashion Magazine of the Year, Rolling Stone for General Interest Magazine of the Year and Good Weekend For Newspaper Inserted Magazine of the Year. None of the aforementioned however, contributed to the most important birthday cake tome of all time, so let’s not get carried away with the praise.
