T.J. Miller – that guy from Silicon Valley, Deadpool, and the upcoming Office Christmas Party – was arrested for allegedly slapping his Uber driver over the head during an argument about president-elect Donald Trump.
The driver made a citizen’s arrest and called the police, who then took Miller into custody. Los Angeles Police confirmed he landed battery charges stemming from the Friday morning incident.
He was released on his own recognisance, and will front court on January 9.
TMZ reports the actor was taking a ride home from the GQ Man Of The Year Awards party at the time of the incident.
This incident comes just before his scheduled hosting gig at the Critic’s Choice Awards on Sunday local time. When asked about this recent SNAFU, the head of the organisation in charge of the Awards confirmed he’ll still be on deck.
FWIW, the driver isn’t thought to have suffered any visible injuries from the incident – perhaps just some major confusion as to why Miller, who has been openly anti-Trump in the past, would allegedly choose to make the super-dumb decision to smack someone who disagrees.
