Sydney, You Okay? You Had A Record-Breaking Scorcher Of A Day Yesterday

R U OK Sydney? Apparently you had a very hard time doing ‘autumn’ yesterday.

Yesterday, temperatures got up to 34.2 degrees Celcius, which is the highest reading for April in around 30 years. And that was in the city yo – in some suburbs in the south/west suburbs, it got up to 36 degrees.
In Australia, March broke records in NSW that were set in 1940, and records that were set in Victoria in 1974. But according to a range of meteorologists, March temperatures were abnormally high globally.

While many of us will struggle to understand the full meaning of the map embedded in that tweet, surely you will understand that yesterday, Sydney felt like this:
Everyone in Sydney was aimlessly wandering around wearing jackets and coats, squinting at the sun in a very, very confused manner. Melting.
So yeah. Lots of confusingly warm days ahead, most likely. Very temperate.
