The First Reimagined Suicide Squad Trailer Is Here And Let’s Try This Again, Shall We?

The first trailer for the reimagined Suicide Squad dropped overnight and ooh boi, it looks like a bonkers journey awaits.

If I’m honest, the trailer gives off the same vibes as the original Suicide Squad trailer, which was not well received by credits. But take this as a good sign, because while the movie itself didn’t fare too well, the trailer was absolutely sick and got us all pumped, it was the execution that was lacking. But since this one is being helmed by Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn, I reckon we’re in safe hands.

Given his success with the Marvel flicks, I’m sure he’s done a much better job of bringing the DC comic to life.

The cast has had a major shakeup as well for the second Suicide Squad, aside from Margot Robbie who returns as demonic manic pixie girl, Harley Quinn, plus Viola Davis as the wicked overlord Amanda Waller, along with blokes Jai Courtney and Joel Kinnaman and frankly, these characters were the saving grace of the OG so it’s only fitting that they return for the new incarnation.

Joining them is a who’s who of Hollywood, including Idris Elba, John Cena, Peter Capaldi, Nathan Fillion, Taika Waititi, Michael Rooker, Sean Gunn, Alice Braga, David Dastmalchian, Pete Davidson, Joaquín Cosío, Maylin Ng, Flula Borg, Juan Deigo Botto, Storm Reid, Jennifer Holland, Tinashe Kajese, Daniela Melchior, Steve Agee and Julio Ruiz.

Suicide Squad is set to be released in cinemas on August 5 2021.
