Newlyweds Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner were struck by tragedy last week, when one of their sweet li’l Alaskan Klee Kais, Waldo Picasso, reportedly broke free from his dog walker, ran into the road, and was hit by a car in New York.
Waldo, pictured above in the red harness, only joined the Turner/Jonas household last year, making his untimely death even more tragic. Why must dogs die at all? Hasn’t the world suffered enough?!
Sophie and Joe are dealing with the grief in the way many of us do these days: by getting matching In Memoriam tattoos.
Of course, because they are celebrities, they could afford to jump the (extensive) waiting list for ultra-cool tattoo artist @drag_ink, who’s known for his tiny, detailed, photorealistic tatties. And that’s exactly what the pair got.
Joe shared his mini portrait of Waldo on Instagram, while Sophie put hers in her stories, along with the caption, “I miss you, Waldo. Rest In Peace my little baby.”

Unfortunately for the Jonas-Turners, they won’t be able to seek justice for Waldo’s death; according to TMZ, there are no criminal charges to pursue against the driver of the car that hit him, as the event has been ruled an accident.
Hug your pets tightly, my friends. And maybe start planning a memorial tattoo for their inevitable, and monumentally unfair, departure from this mortal plane.
RIP Waldo.
