Skydiving Maniac Felix Baumgartner Inspires A Feature Documentary

Late last year, Austrian skydiver Felix Baumgartner proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that he was the ballsiest guy on the planet, by leaving the surface of said planet, flying up to the edge of the stratosphere, and skydiving 39 kilometres back to earth, falling so fast he broke the sound barrier.

On October 14, one year after the historic jump, Red Bull and Rdio will release Mission to the Edge of Space: The Full Story Behind Red Bull Stratos, a two-hour documentary exploring the feats of science, engineering, and not being a scaredy-cat that were required to orchestrate Baumgartner’s sonic-boom creating achievement, and celebrating the team who helped make it happen.

The documentary, which features never-before-seen footage will be released online exclusively on rdio.com/redbullstratos on October 14, but the trailer has been released today:

Alaska’s finest psych-pop peddlers Portugal. The Man have released Oh Boy, have today released a new track via Rdio that will be featured in the film. Have a listen while you contemplate how a big a wuss you are (and how lame your name is) in comparison to Felix Baumgartner.
