Here at Pedestrian HQ, we’ve been eagerly awaiting the first episode of Tooheys Extra Dry’s “Six Beers Of Separation” mini series. Partly because we’re keen to see if any restraining orders get put out against the contestants, but mostly because we’re green with envy.
For those who don’t know, the premise is as amazing as it is jealousy inducing – four young Australians, Ruwan, Meaghan, Oliver and Matt have a six-pack of beer, $12,000 travel money, and 18 days to try and meet their heroes while a camera follows their every move, triumph and pitfall. Lucky bastards…
Episode one finds Ruwan heading to the Sundance Film Festival for a screening of his debut short film. Aspiring comedian Oliver heads to London and bombs at a comedy club before heading to Las Vegas (sorry Oliver our skin was crawling too), songstress Meaghan heads to the recording studio on her quest to find the Madden brothers and Matt hooks up with Sneaker Freaker on his way to Monster Children. We know it’s not a race but we’re rooting for Ruwan, who shows no signs of Matt’s neurosis, Meaghan’s dubious music taste, or Oliver’s weird sense of humour. As a side note, who do you think would win in a “Gnarliest mutton chop competition” between Matt and Oliver?
