Selena Gomez Is Feeling ‘Empowered’ After Visiting Mental Health Retreat

It takes a lot of strength and bravery to reach out for help when you’re not doing your best. It must be even harder when your life is constantly being picked apart and you feel like privacy is some strange alien concept that most people haven’t heard of.

Which is why it’s genuinely so fkn awesome that Selena Gomez decided to put self-care first and checked in for treatment for issues relating to depression and anxiety.

Speaking to The Blast, a source close to Selena confirmed that the 25-year-old singer and actress flew to New York on January 6th to stay at an on-site treatment centre.

While she was there, Selena decided to focus on therapy, eat heaps of healthy tucker and practice mindfulness and yoga. She was allowed to come and go as she pleased and is now feeling super empowered and refreshed.

“She wants to go again later this year,” said the source. “She feels and looks great. She’s still working on new music and is excited about it.”

Rumoured boyfriend Justin Bieber was reportedly aware of the treatment and is being supportive as if you didn’t need any more reasons to love the power couple.

Mad props to Selena for being brave enough to go ahead with the treatment and show people that it’s completely fine to need a break every now and again.
