‘Drunken and irresponsible’ partygoers have been slammed by the Scottish Police after an unofficial party for the Royal Wedding in a popular Glasgow park ended in violence and over twenty arrests.
In a scene that looks a bit like what Jess Cooper’s Party could have become, thousands of young Scots took to Kelvingrove Park to dance and celebrate their neighbouring country’s pride and joy in the sunshine, until the police came to close it down at 5pm. That’s when things apparently turned violent, with local news stations reporting revellers turning nasty, throwing bottles at police and their horses and sending one unlucky officer to hospital with a head injury. Surely they’d heard enough Calvin Harris by then?
