Sam Worthington Says Avatar 2, 3 and 4 Will Begin Shooting October 2014

Headliner of multiple box-office juggernauts and Lara Bingle‘s current squeeze Sam Worthington has told Nova radio that filming for the first sequel to James Cameron‘s 2009 blockbuster Avatar will “start this time next year and we will do two, three and four,” adding “I’ll be grateful if it finishes.”

Cameron has been talking about returning to Pandora, AKA Planet Eye Candy, since the first film came out, and if production goes ahead in October next year, it looks like the rumoured releases for each of the three sequels in 2016, 2017 and 2018 will come to fruition.

The first Avatar made approximately a bajillion dollars at the box office despite actually featuring a fictional rare mineral that they genuinely called “unobtainium”, and was the first major film to incorporate the now-mainstream use of 3D cinematography.
