Roseanne Barr, the American sitcom star who was booted from her eponymous show after launching a racist tweet, has railed against the support for director James Gunn after his own removal from the Guardians Of The Galaxy film series.

Barr tweeted that she is “disgusted” people are sympathising with Gunn after the backlash to his edgy and distasteful messages, while also continuing to brand her a bona fide bigot.
I’m disgusted to read all of the support for James Gunn’s pedophile jokes-as the same people supported blacklisting me for a joke they didn’t even understand.

Roseanne was cancelled by ABC Entertainment in May after Barr tweeted that former White House aide Valerie Jarrett, who is black, was a child of the radical group Muslim Brotherhood and Planet Of The Apes.
In the months since, Barr has engaged in a strange publicity campaign which has alternated between contrition and… well, yelling “I thought the bitch was white” into a camera.
Gunn was recently fired from his cushy Marvel gig after an online campaign, led by alt-right conspiracist Mike Cernovich, seized upon old tweets in which Gunn joked about paedophilia.
Support for Gunn has come from fans and from within the Marvel stables itself.
More than 275,000 people have signed a Change.org petition calling for Gunn to be rehired, while Guardians stars including Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, and Chris Pratt have tweeted messages offering varying levels of public support.
I will have more to say but for right now all I will say is this..@JamesGunn is one of the most loving, caring, good natured people I have ever met. He’s gentle and kind and cares deeply for people and animals. He’s made mistakes. We all have. Im NOT ok with what’s happening to him

It’s been a challenging weekend I’m not gonna lie. I’m pausing myself to take everything in before I speak out of term. I just want everyone to know I love ALL members of my GOTG family. Always will.

“Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters. Let every person be quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger.”
