Dan Harmon Deletes Twitter After Sketch Depicting Paedophilia Resurfaces

Rick And Morty co-creator Dan Harmon has deleted his Twitter account after the resurfacing of a 2009 comedy video which depicts him raping a baby doll.

The video, entitled Daryl, was reportedly created as a parody of Dexter for Harmon’s own Channel 101 short film competition.

It opens with Harmon telling the audience that what they are about to watch is “controversial” and that “it’s a little groundbreaking for normal people to handle”.

Several scenes that follow show Harmon’s character drop his pants and simulate rape on the doll.

It is not the first controversy Harmon has faced in recent months. In January, the Community creator used a podcast to admit he sexually harassed former staff writer Megan Ganz during the show’s run.

Adult Swim, which announced in May that it has commissioned 70 more episodes of Rick And Morty, has not issued a statement on the Daryl sketch.

Multiple media requests for comment from Harmon, and from his production company, are yet to be answered.

The renewed focus on Daryl comes just days after Guardians Of The Galaxy director James Gunn was fired by Disney after numerous tweets joking about rape and paedophilia were resurfaced by right-wing activists online.
