A brand new trailer for the highly anticipated Rocketman has just dropped and our boy Taron Egerton is serving some killer Elton John lewks and belting our your fave tunes.

In the trailer, we see Egerton (Eddie the Eagle, Kingsman) don more of the legendary singer’s well-known sparkly threads and get an insight into his home life, songwriting process and how he came to be an international superstar.

Musically, we’re serenaded with ‘Bennie and the Jets’ and my personal favourite Elton banger, ‘Tiny Dancer’.

‘The only way to tell his story is to live his fantasy,’ the screen reads.

The trailer ends with the flamboyant star taking the stage for his beloved 1975 Dodgers Stadium performance, complete with bejewelled baseball outfit..

Speaking to Collider last May, Egerton stressed that the film is a “fantasy musical” and not a “biopic” like, say, Bohemian Rhapsody.

“Everyone thinks it’s a biopic. It isn’t. It’s a fantasy musical,” he said. “So it’s actually his songs used to express important beats in his life at emotional moments. He’s not the only character that sings.”

“I will always be singing on set. No miming,” he adds. “I’m just not interested in doing it that way.”

The film also stars Jamie Bell (as John’s longtime lyricist Bernie Taupin), Richard Madden, and Bryce Dallas Howard.

Rocketman hits cinemas May 30.
