Portlandia’s Carrie Brownstein is Writing a Jane Austen Movie

Before her untimely death in 2012, comedy writer Nora Ephron – the woman behind When Harry Met Sally and Sleepless In Seattle – was working on a movie adaptation of the popular TV series and book Lost In Austen. The movie is still happening, and Vulture report script writing duties have passed to an wonderfully unexpected replacement – Carrie Brownstein of Portlandia!

Lost In Austen tells the story of a modern-day Brooklyn woman who finds herself magically transported back to the time of Jane Austen‘s Pride And Prejudice. Brownstein’s only writing credits to date are for episodes of Portlandia, but we’re going to go ahead and assume that her acerbic wit will transfer over well to the big screen.
