The cluster-whoops that is the Miss Universe 2015 pageant continues to dominate headlines, bravely assuming the mantle of the pop culture news story that will see you and us through the holiday season.
Overnight, judge Perez Hilton saw fit to offer his two cents – which, at the current exchange rate, is actually worth AU 0.027c – on the matter, slamming Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez as a “straight up diva bitch” in his podcast.
In case you somehow missed it (doubtful), Gutierrez was mistakenly crowned as the winner of the pageant by host Steve Harvey, before her crown was cruelly taken away and given to the real winner, Miss Philippines.
Perez, a 37-year-old man, unleashed a torrent of Mean Girls-style abuse on the 21-year-old Gutierrez, saying:
“I don’t know if the people at home could see this, but Miss Colombia was being straight-up diva bitch. [She was] rude to her translator. She was giving the most awful side-eye, throwing major shade … Miss Colombia was not happy with the pace or the way that the translator was translating.”
After referring to Gutierrez with a four-letter ‘c’ word that is frankly unprintable on a family website such as this one, Hilton went on to critique her performance, saying:
“… Miss Philippines gave a better answer. She deserves it. She is Miss Universe, whereas the Miss Colombia, I’m like, you’re Sofia Vergara. You’re not Miss Universe.”
In a separate interview with Good Morning America, Hilton went slightly less tough on host Harvey, saying “he just didn’t do his job well”, something we kind of suspected all along, mate.
