North Korea is Still Very Pissed at James Franco and Seth Rogen

The final trailer for The Interview arrived last week, and it seems like when all is said and done, the film seems pretty soft on Kim Jong-Un, casting the North Korean dictator as a chill dude who just wants to take joyrides in tanks and listen to Katy Perry.
Nonetheless, North Korea is still monumentally pissed about it, regarding the coming onslaught of dick jokes (and the plot line about assassinating their fearless leader, we guess) as a wanton display of U.S. aggression.
North Korea previously threatened nuclear war if The Interview was to be released, and today, through a state news source, have released another statement calling for the “stern punishment” of those involved.
“The cheekiness to show this conspiracy movie, which is comprised of utter distortions of the truth and absurd imaginations, is an evil act of provocation against our highly dignified republic and an insult against our righteous people,” the statement read.
“The trashy filmmakers, who, won over by a few dollars thrown to them by conspirators, have compromised the dignity and conscience of filmmaking and dared to produce and direct such a film. They must be subject to our stern punishment.”
“How pitiful the U.S. is, desperately scrambling to tear down the authority of our republic that grows mightier by the day, with a shabby movie, now that no pressure or threat has worked.”
The fact that they’ve downgraded from threatening nuclear war to calling Rogen and Franco’s latest joint “cheeky” means we probably don’t have very much to worry about in terms of the geopolitical fallout of The Interview.
Moving forward, we eagerly await news that James Franco has defected to North Korea and is starring as Bella in an all-nude Twilight remake with his new BFF Kim Jong-Un.
