Netflix Confirms Australian Launch Date

Netflix have this morning confirmed that they’re making their entry into the Australian and New Zealand markets official, granting Internet-connected antipodes access to critically acclaimed original content and the world’s most popular movie streaming service as of March 2015.

At the time of launch, Netflix promises to offer Australian subscribers high-definition and 4K ultra-HD original content in the form of Marco Polo, BoJack Horseman and an expanding Netflix ANZ selection that’ll include family thriller Bloodline, starring Ben Mendelsohn, Kyle Chandler, Sissy Spacek, Linda Cardellini and Sam Shepard, as well as Sens8, a “globe-spanning thriller” from the Wachowskis, amongst others.
A price tag on the service is yet to be announced. Australian subscribers will reportedly be able to sign up for a free one month trial before committing to the service’s three tier payment plan.
