Attendees of this year’s Schoolies Week have just been given one more reason to look really attractive other than the main reason to look attractive which is to get pashed a lot. Amidst a week of projectile vomiting, beer bongs and tit flashing, the Gold Coast will play host to the first ever Mr And Miss Schoolies Model Search – a competition to discover high school graduates with top model potential.
Don’t worry, Concerned Parents. Despite thid whole premise reeking of suss it’s actually not what you’re thinking (underage wet t-shirt competition with your daughter gyrating to Mariah Carey’s “Honey” on a podium while a Kyle Sandilands-esque emcee slips roofies into her Midori and lemonade. Yes that’s what I was thinking too.). The competition has some credible fashion industry folk attached, including Wilhelmina Models agency in New York and, perhaps a little more questionably, Fashion TV Australia.
Finalists from each state will be selected and flown to the Gold Coast for Schoolies Week to compete in the National Final which will be judged by Wilhelmina Models booking agent, Greg Chan. The winner will score international representation by Wilhelmina, a trip to Los Angeles, a skateboard and some other cool stuff. But when it comes down to it you only get to really experience Schoolies one time in your life, and you should spend it celebrating with friends, having a few drinks and falling in love.
