Memories: Video Hits Axed After 25 Years

Classic hangover programming, Video Hits, has been cancelled by Channel Ten after 25 years on the air.

Ten has chosen to ‘bone’ the show because of major restructuring within the network, leaving co-hosts Faustina ‘Fuzzy’ Agolley and Dylan Lewis out of a job.

Although Video Hits may be gone, it will not be forgotten – largely because of the presenters, past and present, who’ve given us some memorable tv moments over the show’s quarter-century stretch. Here’s a few of those moments…

FUZZY’S VERSATILE INTERVIEW STRATEGY
She has interviewed many acts over the years. Two of her various interviewing tactics include either…
… completely inventing an artist’s (in this case, Pharrell Williams) interest or hobby (in this case Star Wars) and then distracting them with props so they just roll with it:

… turning up to work hell wasted:

AXLE WHITEHEAD UNCUT
Axle Whitehead was a Video Hits presenter from 2004-2006. This is him a couple of hours before he dropped trou onstage at the 2006 ARIA awards:

NATHAN SAPSFORD IS SUPERB
Nathan Sapsford, who hosted from 2007 – 2008 is an actor, keynote speaker and many other things. His TV.com rating is 9.8 or ‘superb’ based off two votes.

THE EVOLUTION OF DYLAN LEWIS
Dylan Lewis started his tv career on ABC’s super-alt Sunday morning music/other show Recovery in the Nineties. Then he was on Video Hits 10 years later having barely aged. Weird.

RIP Video Hits.
