Married At First Sight Season Two Will Include Same-Sex Couples

If you were just about to change your Facebook profile picture back to boring, normal colours – hold your bloody horses!
As you are probably already aware, unlike the United States of America, same-sex marriage isn’t legal in Australia yet. Please enjoy this wonderful .JPG, if you are in any way agitated by this fact:
But anyway, guess what we have instead of same-sex marriage? GAY COUPLES ON A SHOW ABOUT MARRIAGE! (Salt, meet wound, amirite?)
Due to the fact that Married at First Sight actually only requires each couple to have a ‘commitment ceremony’ and not an actual legal marriage ceremony, the show has confirmed that they are indeed open to having same-sex couples on the show next season.
According to a spokesperson for Castasugar Agency, the show is currently taking applications for season two, and has added a question about the preferred gender of the applicant’s partner.
It’s a step in the right direction, at the very least. And the show is about to get so much more entertaining, you guys.
