Mariah Carey is very, very festive, you guys.
In fact, the festive season is where she draws the majority of her power, so she can sparkle throughout the rest of the year.
This year, however, Mariah may end up with a lump of coal in her stocking, as elves sources close to her camp claim that her ex James Packer is deliberately drawing out the details of their split in an attempt to ruin her Christmas.
The couple are reportedly still trying to reach an agreement after their high-profile separation, with details including a financial settlement and the fate of her $10 million engagement ring still on the table.
There are also reports that Packer wants his scenes to be cut from Mariah’s upcoming reality series, and that she is seeking a $50 million “inconvenience fee” that she claims was discussed in prenuptial negotiations.
This week, sources in Team Mariah told Entertainment Tonight about Packer’s supposed Grinch-like tactics, saying:
“[Packer] is causing Mariah severe emotional distress especially at such an important time of her life. He knows she is the queen of the holiday season and she knows he’s trying to ruin it for her … They’re not close to reaching a settlement.”
