Mad Men fans, the feted hour is almost upon us when Season 5 premieres with a hefty two-hour premiere in the U.S. (and subsequently via torrents or livestreams for those of us in alternate hemispheres). What better way to celebrate Mad Men‘s welcome return than by stocking the wet bar and enjoying a casual midday drinking session? If there’s anything we’ve learned from the show, it’s that all great ideas are born from solid whiskey sessions punctuated with heavy smoking.
The rules are simple.
Take a drink:
Every time Don lights a cigarette.Every time Jon Hamm looks handsome. Actually that’s not safe.
Whenever a bottle of hard liquor is opened.
Any time Joan appears on screen wearing a tight cardigan.
Every time Roger Sterling makes a workplace quip that would be considered sexual harassment these days.
If Megan’s large teeth get on your nerves.
When Betty acts like an intolerable bitch.
Take a shot:
If Don has a flashback.
Any time Paul Kinsey mentions civil rights.
Whenever Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce lands a new account.
Any time the Joan-Roger baby is discussed.
Finish your glass:
If Sal finally returns. (NB That is, Salvatore “Sal” Romano, not to be confused with Sally Draper).
Any time a Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce employee demonstrates a total disregard for normal working hours.
If Don is shown spending any time with his kids.
If Peggy and Don have one of their emotional master/apprentice office fights.
Commence a waterfall: (one person starts drinking then person next to them starts then the next and so on)
If office sex happens.
If Duck successfully shits on the floor.
