Looks Like Chris Pratt Could Be The Next Indiana Jones

It’s a bloody good time to be Chris Pratt, ladies and gentlefolk. It’s a bloody good time indeed.

Not only is everyone’s favourite Parks & Recreation goofball currently appearing in the seventh and final (*SOB*) season of the much beloved NBC sitcom, he’s well ensconced in a big heap of high budget, high profile film franchises, like your Guardians of the Galaxy‘s and your Jurassic World‘s and whatnot.
And now beyond the impending shoot for the previously announced Magnificent Seven reboot – which is scheduled to start filming in April, and also stars Denzel Washington – there’s rumblings that Pratt’s in line to add another huge string to his already impressive bow.
Disney‘s been quietly killing it as a parent company over the past few years, ever since the merger with Marvel Studios, which has seen them oversee much of the more recent half of Marvel films. Along with the impending release of the new Star Wars film, the studio is now looking at cashing in on another recently acquired – and highly adored – film franchise: Indiana Jones.
Disney acquired the rights to everyone’s favourite whip-cracking archeology professor from Paramount Studios back in 2013. Whilst any plans for a reboot or a revisiting are in the extremely preliminary stages, it looks as if the studio has its sights set on Pratt to step into the lead role originally made famous by Harrison Ford.
If true, the casting would seem to be an almost perfect fit – with Pratt exhibiting the same combination of rugged charm and comedic timing that allowed Ford to be so successful in the role originally.
Now all we need is for someone to make the Burt Macklin film that we all goddamned well deserve. And when that happens we can all just hug each other for a while. Because things will be perfect.
