Logies Change Voting System To Ensure Karl Stefanovic Never Wins Again

TV Week has acted on the advice solicited from its readers and the industry and overhauled the archaic voting system which helps determine its coveted Gold Logie winner. Launched to curb ABC and SBS executives bitching into their champagne and the competitive advantage enjoyed by commercial networks with the reach, riches and resources to heavily spruik their personalities, the potential amendments include abolishing the “Race for Gold” phase of the competition and allowing readers to vote just once from the time the nominees are announced.

TV Week said in a statement that the voting system was fairer and less beholden to network’s talent campaigns. “We are confident these changes will pave the way for the best possible representation and results for both the industry and public,” they said.

The most recent example being the shock 2011 Gold Logie win by much-hyped Today co-host Karl Stefanovic, who, as anyone who reads this blog is aware, mightn’t have deserved it but is still part of the best Logies-related video on the internet.

Play it again, Sam.
