When Hilary Swank won her first Oscar for Boys Don’t Cry she famously forgot to thank Chad Lowe (her husband at the time) in the acceptance speech, so Girls‘ creative linchpin, Lena Dunham, made up for the omission at yesterday’s Golden Globe Awards.
Lena Dunham was one of the big winners at yesterday’s ceremony, taking home the statuette in both categories she was nominated, including Best Actress in a Comedy (Television). When accepting the award, she thanked Emmy Award-winning actor Lowe (brother of Rob) to make good on a promise she made to him via Twitter back in August 2012:
