Poor, sweet, slightly-less charismatic Lee. He might have won ‘The Bachelorette‘ and Georgia Love‘s heart last night, but in doing so he betrayed an entire nation of people rooting for / wanting to actually root Matty.
This is nation in morning.
Lee Elliott (he gets a last name now that he’s won) told Fairfax this morning that he was hurt by how producers “downplayed” his personality and connection to “G”, and that if viewers had seen the real story, they’d have known it was “a one-horse race”.
Sounds exactly like something the sore winner would say.
“They really downplayed me,” he said. “Yes it hurts, but the only person it matters to is G, she knows [what happened during filming] and she was there to hear it.”
“But I understand it, I get it. But in the finale, they actually showed me opening right up.”
That could explain tweets like this one.
Well I like Lee. #BacheloretteAU

Obviously, we’ve already been through this shit once in 2016 with the Alex / Nikki fiasco of ‘The Bachelor‘, where Richie chose the former despite producers making us fall in love with the latter.
“I certainly like to think I won’t quite have that backlash,” said Lee, who musn’t have checked Twitter this morning. “I understand there are people that are Team Matty and there are people that are Team Me.”
“Obviously you go in not knowing what is going to happen and how you will be perceived.
Weirdly enough, it turns out Alex and Lee have been friends for years. Coincidence? I think not.
OH FOR FUCKS SAKE I AM DONE WITH THESE DAMN SHOWS NEVER AGAIN #BacheloretteAU
