Bachelor cuties Laura Byrne and Matthew Johnson have announced that they are expecting their first baby, with Byrne confirming the news to The Daily Telegraph today, saying that she is fifteen weeks pregnant.
Byrne suffered a miscarriage in June of this year, but to her surprise, found out that she was pregnant again several weeks later. For this reason and for the sake of privacy, the pair decided to keep the news a secret until now.
Johnson dropped some joking hints about the pregnancy in a radio interview yesterday morning, when he discussed potential baby names and said that he would choose “something crazy like Moon or Phoenix or River” for hew new bub.
The couple have since made it Instagram official, with both Matty J and Laura Byrne posting the news to their respective accounts, along with some hella cute beach photos.
“Old mate and I are beyond excited to finally be able to share that I’m cooking an orange-sized baby Johnson-Byrne”, said Laura. “Happy doesn’t even come close.”
Speaking with the Daily Telegraph, Byrne opened up on falling pregnant so soon after her miscarriage, saying:
“We’d heard so many stories about how it had been so difficult for some people and obviously we thought it was going to be difficult for me because of what had already happened … When you’ve had a miscarriage, you worry if there is something wrong with you. It is not something that people really talk about but actually one in four pregnancies end that way, you just don’t hear about it.”
They have not yet learned the baby’s sex, although Matty is apparently “very impatient” to find out.
