If you thought rolling joints in Bible paper was sacrilegious, this will creep you right out.
Australian artist Natascha Stellmach claims that she possesses the stolen ashes of Kurt Cobain and will smoke them during an art exhibition. Kurt’s Cobain’s ashes were stolen in May from the residence of Courtney Love and have yet to be recovered. She kept them in a pink teddy bear which also contained a lock of Cobain’s hair.
Stellmach intends to smoke the joint on the 11th of October at the Set Me Free exhibition at Berlin’s Wagner + Partner gallery. She sees it as a symbolic “setting free” of Cobain from the media circus that surrounds him. Hmmm OK. And you’re not adding to this circus?
When asked how she came in possession of Cobain’s ashes Stellmach simply said “That’s confidential and kind of magic. They came to me. And I am setting him free.’
