Power couple of the century Kanye West & Kim Kardashian West have landed themselves a Harper’s Bazaar September issue cover – or should we say, Harper’s Bazaar have landed themselves a Kimye, because that is the power of this celebrity cover.
Fresh from the great savaging of 2016* – a.k.a. the burying of Taylor – the pair sat down with the mag in their temporary Bel Air home (!!!) for an intimate chat about all things Kimye: their selfies, their vanities, their insecurities, their fashion, and their overwhelming power in these fickle industries of media and celebrity. Like Kanye says, “What designer on the planet can sell, consistently, 40,000 shoes. In two minutes?” Yeezy can.
*In theory. This interview was probably held weeks ago.
And yes, they brought up Taylor Swift. Or at least, the interviewer did, and KW + KKW shadily scooted ’round it.
It wouldn’t be a Kimye interview without bringing up nude selfies, because we barely need to remind you that Kim (sigh) ~broke the internet~ earlier this year by posting one to Twitter. Kanye is friggin’ adorable here, saying that for Kim to not post her nude selfies would be like Adele not singing, i.e. a STIFLING OF ART.
“I love her nude selfies,” he said. “Like, I love the ones from the side, the back ones, and the front. I just love seeing her naked; I love nudity. And I love beautiful shapes. I feel like it’s almost a Renaissance thing, a painting, a modern version of a painting. I think it’s important for Kim to have her figure. To not show it would be like Adele not singing.”

And his favourite body part? “Her heart.”
Some other extremely important things to note from this interview:
- Kim has no Twitter regrets. She also hates tweeters and deleters (of which Kanye is one of) (awks).
- If Kanye was invisible for a day, he’d go straight into a women’s locker room (gross).
- Kanye did do a few of the ol’ cock shots in his single days, which this writer imagines would be like staring into the eyes of the devil and having it blink.
- Kanye reckons that Kim “killed” “body slammed” and “made this [second] pregnancy her bitch”. Nyaaaw….?
