Congratulations chicken fans: KFC will bring back the “Double Down” for a good time but not a long time. After KFC Australia promised fans they’d bring back the Double Down for a limited time if their Facebook page reached 500,000 likes, fans got behind the campaign and subsequently KFC has come through with the goods: The “Double Down” is available until the end of today!
The Double Down – made of two chicken fillets sandwiching bacon, cheese and BBQ sauce – has been described as “a crime against food” by a popular TV chef and “horrifying” by medical specialist Dr Rosemary Stanton. To the haters of KFC‘s divisive bread-free chicken and bacon burger known as the “The Double” we say: consult the Atkins Diet. If it’s practically carb-free it’s got to be good for you, right?
Satisfied (and otherwise) customers have already taken to the Facebook page with comments such as “Had one for lunch and one for dinner”, “Holy heart failure batman!!!” and the mildly concerning, “Only two days? Getting rid of old stock???”
Carpe Diem, friends. Go get your Double Downs while the going is good.
