Julie Delpy and Ethan Hawke Scratch Their Nine Year Itch In The ‘Before Midnight’ Trailer

Julie Delpy’s Perpetual Neuroses and Ethan Hawke’s Questionable Facial Hair are reunited once again in the first trailer for Before Midnight, the third film in Richard Linklater’s series, which also includes Before Sunrise (1995) and Before Sunset (2004).

As with the latter, Delpy, Hawke and Linklater wrote the film together, this time exchanging passion and fate as the forces that bind for twins and a nine year itch. Before Midnight then reads like This is 40 on vacation for Hawke’s Jesse and Delpy’s Celine, whose first world problems are offset beautifully by a number of stunning Grecian locations as they try to keep it together for their kids, but mostly for the sake of the franchise. If you’re a fan of dialogue rich threequels starring privileged white people in postcard perfect European locations, this looks like it could be the film for you; just like Mama Mia, or Eurotrip, but without the singing, and the general awfulness.
Before Midnight has earned rave reviews on the festival circuit and lands in theatres later this year some time Before June.
