Jon Stewart Revealed The Date Of His Final Episode Of ‘The Daily Show’

Through all the brouhaha surrounding the apparently controversial Trevor Noah who was only discovered to be so upon his revelation as the heir to the throne of The Daily Show, one unfortunate constant remains true.

Jon Stewart will be leaving his post at Comedy Central. This is happening. It will not not occur.
So the long-held question of “if” has now shifted to a “when.” And that when has been the subject of much speculation. All we knew from Stewart’s earlier announcement is that it would be sometime before the end of this year.
Now we’ve got ourselves a concrete date.
Jon Stewart’s last episode of The Daily Show will take place on Thursday, August 6th (August 7th Australian time). After then, he will – apparently – seamlessly hand over the reigns to Noah, who will begin broadcasting from the Daily Show chair the following Monday.

If you feel like attending the taping of the final ever show, Stewart and his team have put tickets for the studio audience up for grabs via an Omaze-backed charity drive. Donating money gets you varying amounts of entries to score tickets, whilst netting some sweet swag in the process, with all proceeds going to the Night of Too Many Stars autism research campaign.
And before you ask, the Terms & Conditions don’t explicitly prohibit anyone from Australia from entering. It does mention there might be some issues with legal mumbo jumbo, but we figure if you’re a big enough Daily Show fan to donate to the campaign regardless, then you’re a big enough Daily Show fan to jump through some pointless bureaucratic bullshit should you be successful.
There’s only a few months left to enjoy Jon and his magnificently weary political brain. Enjoy it while it lasts, kids.
