Johnny Depp Has Sponsored A Wild Aussie Bat Called ‘Jacki Sparrow’

Since the entire devastating deportation saga that happened with Johnny Depp and his two adorable terrier pups, Pistol and Boo, we are entirely sure that Johnny has been desperately lonely here in ‘Straya.

But, good news – Johnny has found another pet to love. He’s sponsored an orphaned flying fox.
The little orphaned bat was found near the set of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, which Depp is currently working on.
The bat was rescued by The Australian Bat Clinic, who named her ‘Jacki Sparrow‘. Upon hearing this, Depp invited the caretakers onto the set, where he agreed to sponsor the little cutie.
This is Jacki Sparrow:

“He was very interested in (Jacki Sparrow) and so we asked if Johnny would like to sponsor her, because we do sponsor little babies and he said yes. We’re going to be sending Johnny an adoption certificate and little update photos, which is what we normally do with our sponsors,” said Clinic director Trish Wimberley.

Now this is very adorable news, but the better news is, this gif finally makes sense in a news story:
