Lionsgate Films Suddenly Wants Nothing To Do With John Travolta’s New Flick

Welp. John Travolta’s biopic about notorious mob boss John Gotti has been yanked by its distributor just ten days before it was scheduled to open in cinemas. Lionsgate Pictures have officially severed all ties with Gotti with zero explanation, which as you might have guessed is… quite odd.

Gotti is directed by Entourage star Kevin Connolly, and covers the life of the the notorious Gambino crime family boss. It also star’s Travolta’s wife Kelly Preston and their daughter Ella Bleu Travolta.

Lionsgate literally sold the rights to the film back to the producers, who now have to seek a new distributor. This was originally reported over at Hollywood insider blog The Tracking Board, who suggested that – unless there’s something else going on here – there should be a great deal of interest in this film.

Anyway, the planned release date of December 15th seems pretty unlikely at this point. Curiouser and curiouser…
