Bit of a no-brainer this one, really: Idris Elba has been voted Sexiest Man Alive for 2018. As you can probably tell from having looked at him at any point in the past, this one is pretty well deserved.
Last year the award (?) went to Blake Shelton, which seemed to elicit a collective response of “Uhh… are you sure?”.

Elba took to Twitter to very graciously accept the award that he absolutely earned by being completely beautiful, but also took the time to remind Americans to get out and vote in the mid-terms, in the hope that the Democrats can wrest the House away from the Republicans. What a champ.

“Who’d have thought it?” Just about anyone that had ever looked at you, I reckon. Elba told People that he was pretty surprised:
I was like, ‘Come on, no way. Really?’ Looked in the mirror, I checked myself out. I was like, ‘Yeah, you are kind of sexy today.’ But to be honest, it was just a nice feeling. It was a nice surprise — an ego boost for sure.
