“Day 1 on Chappie! Vincent is born, rocking the mullet. Working with Neill Blomkamp in SA. This film is rad,” he said of sporting the iconic/repulsive follicle imbalance preferred by 1980s AFL players and washed up rock stars with debilitating cocaine addictions.
Slated for release in 2015, the film follows a gifted young robot named Chappie (voiced by Blomkamp regular Sharlto Copley) who after being stolen at birth becomes the adopted son of a “strange and dysfunctional” family unit. Also on board are Slumdog Millionaire lead Dev Patel, Sigourney Weaver and South African hip hop duo, Die Antwoord.
