HBO Will Let You Watch The First Episodes Of ‘Girls’ Season 3 On YouTube

Social media adept broadcaster HBO will make the first two episodes of the third season of your favourite docudrama that is literally about your life – seriously, it’s, like, so accurate – Girls available on their YouTube channel a mere 12 hours after the show’s two-part premiere later today, at around 4:30pm Australian time and broadcast at 7:30pm on Showcase.
With stiff viewing competition airing tonight in the form of the Golden Globes, the highly-anticipated premiere of True Detective, the affable hijinks of Downton Abbey, it’s a pretty smart move on the part of HBO to target the audience of Girls, with whom they’re already exhaustively engaging on TumblrInstagramSnapchatFacebook and Twitter
“For us, this is an increasingly challenging demographic to reach with traditional means,” HBO’s vice-president of social media and marketing Sabrina Caluoritells Mashable

Girls is also nominated at today’s Globes for both Best TV Comedy or Musical and Best Actress for series creator, @lenadunham.
