Hamish Blake Will Be On The Bachelor Next Week, Dressed As A Toddler

The Bachelor completely and utterly cooked it this week by placing Richie and Alex in a bath full of gloopy, goopy liquid chocolate, in some kind of deeply disturbing two-contestants-one-tub type situation.
Where could The Bachie possibly take things from here? Wait, did I just hear someone say that Hamish Blake should appear dressed as an overgrown toddler? Because to whoever said that, yeah, that’s pretty much what’s going to happen.
Yesterday morning, Blake told his HIT FM sidekick Andy Lee that his years of devotion to the show finally paid off in a guest appearance, which he filmed earlier this year. He told Lee:

“As you know, I’m a fan of the TV show The Bachelor, And it’s always been my dream to have you be the Bachelor. As part of my campaign to get insider knowledge and to start buttering up the producers, earlier this year I was offered the chance to create a date on [the show]. I went to the mansion. I set up a date for Richie. It airs next Thursday night.”
When asked about the specifics of the date, Blake explained that it’s a “pressure-test” scenario, in which Richie and his chosen bachelorette can see how they might cope with the demands of parenthood:

“Richie picks his girl, takes them out the front. He doesn’t know what’s going on. I said listen, The Bachelor is fun but life is not all jetskis, helicopters, going on picnics and stuff. Life is hard. Life is real. If you really want to test your relationship, see how you go with a toddler. If you can try and have a day out with a toddler and still get some time to yourself, then congratulations, you guys might work.’”
Lee asked where the producers of the show managed to find a toddler they could use on camera. Hamish explained that they didn’t have to, saying:
“I dressed up as a three-year-old for the day and I put them to the test. I became a kid called Rory and I made sure I gave Richie the worst day of his life. And if he wasn’t looking after me at any stage I could cancel their date.”

Hamish didn’t give many more details, but promised that ‘Rory’ was “a handful” for Richie to deal with. Well-played, The Bachelor. The episode is set to air on Thursday, and we can not wait for this nonsense.
