It’s so great to have the chiseled jaw and exquisite cheekbones of Australian actor Guy Pearce well and truly back in the spotlight. He has been confirmed for a role in Ridley Scott‘s upcoming sci-fi film Prometheus, which is rumoured to be a prequel/sequel/brother/cousin film to Scott’s Alien franchise. That’s about all we know at this point, but we do know that Pearce will be in fine company with an impressive acting lineup that includes The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo star Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, and Idris ‘Stringer Bell’ Elba.

Currently being filmed in London, Prometheus is expected to reach theatres June, 2012.
