Watch Guy Pearce Lecture at 2023’s TED x Prometheus

Human cheekbone Guy Pearce makes for a very convincing 2023 TED lecturer in this clip for Ridley Scott’s highly-anticipated sci-fi Fassbender-lead juggernaut, Prometheus.

Pearce plays Peter Weyland – who’ll change the world if you’ll indulge him – in the viral video which takes place in 2023 as a precursor to Prometheus‘ android driven plot. It comes attached with all kinds of clues that hint at the film’s backstory, including the development of indistinguishable androids (hint: Fassbender!) as well as an accompanying website for Weyland Corporation which you can check out here.

It’s a pretty impressive spot and a clever piece of marketing for both TED and the film, as well as Twitter, who plays a supporting role in the background as a live feed covering the stadium event. At least now we know both TED and the Twit are pretty confident of their longevity and relevance for their next ten years.

Prometheus opens June 7th in 3D and will also star Charlize Theron, the original Girl With The Dragon Tat, Noomi Rapace and Stringer Bell Idris Elba. Kinda geeking out over this one.
