Gina Rinehart May Try And Stop ‘House Of Hancock’ Part Two From Airing

Last week, world’s richest woman Gina Rinehart let it be known that she did not much care for the “tacky” treatment dished out to her family’s life story in Nine’s telemovie House Of Hancock.
Tacky? THIS? We struggle to see how she arrived at such an outrageous accusation.
Anyway, point is, while Rinehart objected to the Dynasty-ification of her life, she also took issue with a number of perceived inaccuracies in the show, particularly the parts concerning her relationship with her late father Lang Hancock.
The second part of House Of Hancock is due to air on Nine on Sunday Night. However, as of today, Fairfax report that Rinehart’s lawyers won an injunction to view part two early, and may try and stop it from going to air.
After a successful application for urgent preliminary discovery, they will comb the show for any sign of “malicious falsehood or defamation”, and if they find it, will seek an injunction.
Quality TV fans need not fret, though. Supreme Court Justice Peter Garling, who granted the application, has said that the chances of Rinehart actually being granted an injunction are “remote.”
Nine’s entertainment reporter Peter Ford has also entered the fray, saying “if [Rinehart] was unhappy with what she saw last Sunday night, she definitely should go out for dinner next Sunday night, because it’s like 20 times worse about her.”
Yowza. We can’t wait to see how this mess all plays out.
