FINALLY: Donald Glover Has Reportedly Signed On To The New Spider-Man Film

In 2009, there was an enormous public campaign to get actor/rapper Donald Glover to play Spider-Man in the 2012’s ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’. (The part obviously ended up going to Andrew Garfield.)
Glover backed the grassroots campaign, but has said it caused him to experience some pretty horrendous racism from giant jerks who truly believed that their precious superheroes must all be white blokes or whatever.
But now, Glover’s reportedly signed on to the new reboot of the Spidey franchise, ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’.
In the new film Peter Parker / Spider-Man will be played by Tom Holland, with Michael Keaton as the villain, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, and Zendaya as the female lead.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, details of Glover’s character are being kept heavily under wraps, but he does have some pretty major Spidey experience with one particular character already: he voiced Miles Morales on Disney XD’s animated series ‘Ultimate Spider-Man’
