The depressing regularity with which patrons of Australian public transport have been subjected to awful displays of verbal abuse in the past 24 months (such as this, this and this) doesn’t make the latest incident any less affecting.
The Herald Sun have posted the following footage captured earlier this week in which two girls can be heard being assholes to victim Roger Stapleford, a 56-year-old father of three. The Herald Sun most accurately describes the pair as “feral”.
When Mr Stapleford asks one of the girls to take her feet off a chair so he could sit down he is abused and has a can of drink launched in his direction causing his head to bleed.
“I hope you enjoy your shower…free shower,” says one of the two. “Next time you touch me I’ll kill you. Kill everything you fucking love.”
