Please Enjoy These Memes About Falcon And The Winter Soldier And That Shock Episode One Moment

The Falcon And The Winter Soldier

The first episode of The Falcon And The Winter Soldier landed overnight, and while the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe TV show is nowhere near as weird as WandaVision, it certainly has the action and intrigue that fans are craving.

The show picks up four months after the events of Avengers: Endgame, when billions of people were snapped back to life, but Bucky Barnes and Sam Wilson are having a hard time finding meaning in this post-Thanos world.

Spoilers follow, obviously, but one of the major plot points of The Falcon And The Winter Soldier episode one saw Sam Wilson, nervous about taking on the mantle of Captain America, surrender his shield to a museum, against the advice of Don Cheadle‘s James Rhodes.

The final moments of the episode saw a big twist, with Wyatt Russell‘s John Walker appearing in full regalia as the newly-minted, super patriotic (and needless to say, fairly sinister) Cap. Fans had a lot of thoughts on this:

The strong resemblance to the old man from Up did not go unnoticed:

I Stan Wanda Maximoff and Darcy Lewis as much as the next [cigarette emoji], so their presence in memes is always welcome, too:

Fans were very happy to see more of Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson in The Falcon And The Winter Soldier:

Sebastian Stan also got some love, with many pointing out that Bucky is aging like a fine wine:

It was also a joy for many to see Don Cheadle turn up again:

WandaVision was picked apart by eager fans wondering when and in what form the villain Mephisto might appear (turns out – never and in no form at all!) and the same question has already arisen here:

The Falcon And The Winter Soldier episode one is streaming now on Disney+.
