WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE, FOLKS.
Facebook will soon drop a new/improved redesign of profiles on mobile platforms – an exercise in vanity that is set to focus even more on ~you~ and allow GIFs as profile pictures in the process. Or, in PR speak:
“Today we’re starting to test the next step in an obvious evolution of profiles: profile videos. Soon, you’ll be able to film a short, looping video clip that will play for anyone who visits your profile. Profile videos will let show a part of yourself you couldn’t before, and add a new dimension to your profile.”

Facebook have also announced a temporary profile picture function – allowing users to predetermine a time limit for a profile picture before it reverts back to an original – to eternally keep things fresh AF/not look like a dick when something like the pride filter comes up, and you want to discreetly—no disrespect—change back after a few days.

Meanwhile, choose your maiden GIF profile picture wisely.
