VIC Police Intervene On FB Event Created To Organise An “Attack” On MAFS’ Ines

A Facebook event encouraging people to form an organised street attack on Married At First Sight villain Ines Basic has been shut down by Victorian Police, according to an exclusive report from The Daily Mail.

According to the outlet, thousands had clicked ‘attending’ on the event, which has since been removed from the social media site by Facebook themselves. The location was set to be very close to a Melbourne location where Ines was photographed at over the weekend.

The Daily Mail spoke to Victorian police, who were made aware of the event and began an inquiry to assess it’s seriousness. They reportedly found it ‘has no credible basis’.

The backlash comes after Ines left the show following the revelation of her “affair” with fellow contestant Sam Ball. The pair were “married” to other people, and kept their hook up a secret until last night’s commitment ceremony. Ines has long been the season villain however, after her outburst toward husband Bronson during their honeymoon, and various other remarks made about contestants.

It’s not the first violent reaction to stars of the show. Sam Ball, Ines’ fellow villain after the pair “cheated” on their partners during time on the show – told New Idea this week that he’s recieved death threats.

“One message said they were going to put a gun to my head, and another said they were going to get someone to kill me. This wasn’t what I signed up for. I spoke to family and friends and they told me to go to the police and ask them for their advice.”

PSA – disliking people on reality shows is fine, wishing for them to die or come to harm is absolutely not.
